Pictures: ‘Brave’ Manchester United Bow Out Of The Champions League

The Clash Of The two European titans ended 3-1 on the night in Bayern Munich’s favour. It was a close affair at an atmospheric Allianz Arena but in the latter stages Bayern’s quality showed as they unlocked an exhausted Manchester United defense.

Mata Supporting

Despite being cup-tied the charismatic Juan Mata traveled to Munich to support and cheer on his team mates!

Allianz Arena (Kings Of Cup)

As Kick-Off approached, the Allianz really got rocking and it’s showpiece tonight was a beautiful display which read ‘Kings Of The Cup”

Valencia goal

Manchester United were off to a good start and had the ball in the back of the net soon however Valencia’s goal was judged offside.

The first break through however came from our very own Patrice Evra as he scored an absolute rocket right into the top right hand corner. Neuer had no chance! United were winning 1-0!

Mandzukic Celebration (First Goal)

Within 22 seconds the Bavarians were back. With a cool finish from leading goal scorer Mandzukic the game was tied at 1-1. The game was now wide open and there were gaps for both teams to exploit.

Muller Goal

England’s curse, Thomas Muller struck the decisive blow as he somehow managed to poke a goal from point blank range into the net. It was 2-0 to Bayern and the Manchester Untied players looked distraught after conceding 2 quick fire goals.

Robben Goal

He had been troubling the defense all night and he finally got his reward. Arjen Robben scored Bayern’s third and effectively put the tie to bed. It simply added insult to injury for the Manchester United players who had put their heart and soul into their performances.

Celebrating Victory

As the full time whistle approached the Bayern fans began to celebrate what was a tough victory over a stubborn United.

I think as Manchester United fans, we can be proud of our teams performance. It showed a team that was willing to fight and a team that would not give up. Eventually Bayern’s quality shone through as the game opened up. The Final Score was perhaps a bit cruel as it over shadowed what was a fighting display from the English Champions. Bayern 3 – United 1 (4-2 On Aggregate).
