Rejuvenated Manchester United Too Hot To Handle for Struggling Norwich


A Manchester United side lead out today by legendary player turned manager Ryan Giggs, faced a struggling Norwich who were fighting for their lives. The thrilling affair between the two clubs ended in an emphatic 4-0 victory for the hosts at Old Trafford. Here is the memorable encounter in pictures.

Manchester United would be lead out today, for the first time by Ryan Giggs. Other graduates from the famous ‘Class Of 92’ would act as his advisers.

After 41 minutes of sparring, Welbeck earned Manchester United a penalty after being brought down by Whittaker inside the box.Rooney calmly converted to score the first goal of the Ryan Giggs era.

I think its fair to say that substitute. Juan Mata was quite happy with the goal!

Right after the break on 48′, Rooney scored a special goal. It was a low curling shot that beat John Ruddy. The players were now enjoying themselves. 2.0!

A substitution was made and Cleverley was taken off with Mata being brought on.

The Spaniard made an instant impact scoring a close range tap-in on 63′. The game was put to bed and United lead 3-0.

10 minutes later Mata scored another close range goal. A header this time. It was his first headed goal in the Premier League.  United had their arrogance back. 4-0!

Two goals from the bench, Mata was indeed a super-sub! What a difference the ex-Chelsea star had made. He has begun life at United well and we can only hope it gets better. The game was effectively over and United were going to win comfortably.

It was FT and for the first time in a long time, the Old Trafford Faithful could go home happy with a smile on their face. Manchester United 4 – Norwich City 0.
